Many years ago, as a young soldier, I found out what people will do if given permission. As a Unit Policeman, we were given wooden night sticks and training. When I look back at some of the damage we did, I am actually ashamed. The truth is, if you give a young cop a Taser, train him or her to use it, and then send them out there, they will look for a reason to use it. Maybe that is why they get Tasered themselves during certification.

Try having a laugh, folks. I don’t think cops are evil. I might think we have too many of them in this country, but I don’t think they are all corrupt and terrible.

But whatever your view of the cops and how tough their job is, one getting Tasered with his own weapon is comical.

@Adam, Steve and Tim,

I believe being shocked is part of the standard training for police authorized to use tasers. However, the experience of a fit, young 200 pound man being hit by a taser in the context of a training course is almost certainly very different from how a 120-pound, old, out of shape person with a heart condition might experience it in the context of getting an ass kicking from the police.

@idiots, if you attack a police officer, and survived the incident without bullet wounds, you should consider yourself lucky. I do not consider using a taser, baton or a gun excessive force is a dangerous person is attacking a police officer, and I have made that very clear in previous posts. I have two problems: 1) the small number of police officers who give the rest a bad rap by abusing their power and 2) that police are told in their training that tasers are nonlethal when there is overwhelming evidence that a taser can kill. Taser International, not the individual police officer, should be held accountable when someone dies from a shock. And by accountable, I mean jail time.

While I think, on the surface, this story is funny, I’ve got to chime in on the first comment.

Now, I’m not a huge fan of cops, but I understand their place, and point.
That being said, if you sit at home on any saturday night, you’re bound to see something on TV, or YouTube about cops being tazed themselves.

Cops DO test most things on each other so they ‘ know ‘ what is going on.
and no, I’m not saying they shoot each other with Glocks…. please see the above _most_…

I think the best way to lead people to a clue would be to place them in a situation.

Lets say you have a guy the size of the Incredible Hulk. You’re a cop. He’s running at you. He will likely kill you.

But, due to the bleeding hearts of idiots like Riley and Kavan who lump all cops together under the umbrella of evil corrupt motherfuckers who want to taser everyone they see for their own amusement, you cannot have a taser. What do you do?

Shoot him? He was unarmed. Excessive force.

Beat him with a baton? Again, excessive force.

Multi-cop beatdown? Rodney King part II.

There is just no way of doing things that will not piss off SOMEONE.

I guess you’ll have to just get down on your knees and beg him not to beat the everloving shit out of you.

Yeah. Thats it.

Not to defend the officer, but, I know for a fact that the police DO get maced in their eyes, simply so they know how badly it hurts when they do it to someone else. Tasers…I’m not so sure, but if there is a job out there to do it, then I will find it.

I don’t condone either side here BUT the cops really should test these “non-lethal” weapons on themselves before allowing the whole force to go out attacking civilians “non-lethally”. Innocent, law-abiding people have died from these so called non-lethal methods and weapons and it needs to stop.
