The fur issue is interesting. If you've already killed a seal to eat (I've got nothing against that) not using its fur for clothing is just letting it go to waste. You then have to make your clothes out of something else - which pretty much means cotton. Cotton farming is one of the most environmentally destructive processes around, so you could even say that seal-fur coats are _good_ for the environment.

Killing seals purely for fur however, now that I don't agree with.

I like your post Kavan, try not to hold back so much. (joke there)

The protesting of the seal hunt has always been about making money for the anti-seal protesters. Read the news article below about it. There is real big money in protesting against the seal hunt today

I gotta say I love the view this site provides - crass, no holds barred truthfulness. It's about time somebody began saying things right about the hunt (besides another great site i know about), and saying it in a non-manipulative way. Congrats. I hope you make some kind of sequel article outlining some of the finer details, specifically, some of the bullshit corrupt AR groups manage to come up with (42% of seals skinned alive?). Like I said. Bullshit.

Agreed. also take notice people, of how they are using the blunt end of the hakapiks. As a Newfoundlander I'm quite tired of taking flak for the seal hunt, I'm not involved in it myself but I have done more then a few shift at a fish processing plant, either way the seafood industry is not light work and if people honestly could do something else they most likely would. It's just the situation a lot of them are stuck in, we don't exactly have lots of well paying jobs to spare around here, especially considering a lot of these people grew up in a time where they had to quit school and support the family.
