@Matt, yes, too many macho men in the family, and my home town, and in the Aikido community.

@Kee, it would be more accurate to state up front that I’m satirizing the common masculine archetype, but that would defeat the purpose of ‘satire’

@Kevin, some people just like attention. I don’t think that’s a bad thing as long as you also do the right thing, when the time comes.

@How to attract women, this post was not about how to attract women, it was about the North American masculine archetype. And I don’t have a blog roll.

I personally can’t stand hanging around ‘macho men’ , I have absolutely no respect for people who have to be the center of attention and do everything to impress others, in the end these guys are a lot of talk and posturing and no action. A ‘real man’ in my view is someone who takes action and does things regardless of weather he’s the center of attention or not , and ( as you say) does things for the betterment of not only himself but others.

Macho men brag about all the ass and pussy they get, regardless of whether they’re getting any.
Real men respect a woman enough not to kiss and tell, and don’t even have to be interested in women in the first place.

Although it would be more accurate to say that you prefer your standard of masculinity to that of the dominant culture, rather than ‘macho men vs “real” men.’
